Day 2 of life started with pictures and tests. Calvin had a slight heart murmur at birth (which happens to lots of babies) so he had an echocardiogram done. Everything came back normal - no more murmur! He also had a slight bit of jaundice, so we were told to feed him more frequently. Hard to do with a little baby who likes to sleep more than anything! The first day, he went into a deep sleep in the early afternoon and Mommy had to have help from the lactation consultants to try and wake him up to eat. This is normal for newborns - they just have so much stimulation that they go into a very deep sleep a few hours after birth.
Here is the outfit that we chose for Calvin to wear in his firs pictures (no hat so we could see his beautiful blonde hair!):
Later that day, we were told that we could head home (or we could wait until Friday). Of course we chose our own beds! Here is Calvin getting all suited up for the ride home:
Mr. Calvin likes to scratch his face with his fingernails, so we put socks on his hands. You can see the bandaid on his foot from the PKU test too (ouch!)
At long last, home and comfy in his bassinet. Time to sleep.
