Calvin has his first doctor appointment on day 3! We went to the doctor's office and the lactation consultatant there (Theresa) took his weight (7 pounds 11 ounces) and helped out with breastfeeding. Theresa was great - gave lots of good information! We also found out that Calvin still had some jaundice, so we had to go get blood drawn at the Lab. Calvin didn't like that at all - and neither did Mommy or Daddy. They had to stick his feet (both of them) and try to get blood. It took three of the techs. The very last tech went slow and Calvin didn't cry at all, which was a relief after the first two techs made Calvin scream because they were trying to squeeze the blood out of his foot. We weren't happy at all.
He also had to have blood taken on Saturday to test the bilirubin levels. This was a little easier, but not much. We heard from Dr. Porter, his bili levels were trending downward, so no more blood sticks after this one! Thank goodness.
Visitors on Saturday were Aunt Laura and Uncle Clint (no pictures, I forgot!).
Here are some more pictures of these days:
Here are pictures of the beautiful flowers we received in the hospital:
