Calvin's 6 month well-baby appointment was yesterday. 28 inches long (92nd percentile) and 18 pounds 9 ounces (66th percentile). We have a long baby! He grew almost 2 inches since the last appointment 6 weeks ago.
Everything looking good, and we had to suffer through 5 immunizations. 4 sticks, 1 oral. He was not a happy baby. He had his first round of H1N1 and seasonal flu vaccine. In 4 weeks he goes back for round 2, along with the hep B shot he didn't get yesterday. They like to only do 4 shots max - 2 in each leg - at each visit. Which was 4 too many for my little guy, but we made it just fine. Had some tylenol when we got home, and I don't really think they bothered him at all.
We had Blake and Maggie over for steak that evening, and had a great time! Since I got a sleep positioner
Thursday, we've been having better nights. Both Thursday night and last night, it took just a little crying before he put himself to sleep. Thursday was around 8 PM, last night we had lots of noise and company, so it was late - 10:30 PM. But I definitely see an improvement.
Copper also had lots of fun last night - Blake and Maggie brought their Jack Russell (Addison) and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (Lucy). Copper could not get enough of them! Lucy wanted nothing to do with either of them - and let him know it a couple tiems - but Copper and Addison chased each other around for hours! We will have one exhausted dog on our hands today. At one point, Addison was racing around the living room, with Copper hot on her heels, but the poor guy just couldn't catch his girl! They went laps, Copper whining the whole time.
Today, Calvin is going to visit Grandma Tracy, and Mommy is going to the Fox to see A Christmas Carol with the Niemerg clan. It should be a good time for all!
