Zoo & Museum Fun!

Jeremy and I took Friday off to take Calvin around for some fun!

This included the Bloomington Miller Park Zoo and the Children's Discovery Museum. Here are some of the sights:

It's an otter waiting for more fish!

And a sea lion...

It was HOT out! Almost 90.

I think Calvin was just taking it all in.  We were pointing out all the different animals to him, and he kept looking for them.  And of course, he loves watching other kids, so he had a blast doing that also.

After he got sprinkled with water, we went  to the gift shop to cool off.

And then we headed to downtown Normal for pizza and the Children's Museum.  He got a second wind here!

Outside the museum (and a change of clothes post-pizza)...

They had a Sugar Creek water area.  He just kept splashing!  And when we got home we filled his birthday present water table up, he had a great time then too!

They had a "little kid" (up to age 4) play area.  Calvin was loving it - and check it out, he's actually wearing shoes!  He didn't love them and they hurt his walking skills, but he left them on!

Calvin thought it was hilarious that he could see Daddy through the glass in the upstairs part of the play area. He kept playing peek-a-boo with Daddy!

Of course we had to check out the play tractor

And combine...

And round out the day with a game of chess.

What a fantastic way to spend a Friday in summer. We will have to do it again!
