Prairie Farm

Calvin and I visited Prairie Farm this afternoon - on the last day of the season! I hadn't even heard of the place until last week. It's a replica farm in the middle of Champaign.  They had a petting zoo area from 3-5 that we made it just in time for.  They also had lots of other animals to see - goats, sheep, cows, horses, roosters, geese, bunnies, goldfish, all kinds of fun!  These were all penned up and you could walk up and see them, learn a little bit about them.

Calvin had a blast. I didn't get a whole lot of pictures, we were having so much fun it was hard to remember the camera!  Here are a few pictures from my phone, I'll share more from the big camera when I get them downloaded.

They also had a play area that was a big hit with the little kids.  It was for ages 2 - 5, and there had to have been about a dozen kids in there at one time when we came up to it. I was impressed by how many children were playing so nicely in such a tight place - it was very cool.

Did I mention the whole experience is FREE?  They do accept donations to aid in the feeding of the animals.
