Weekend in T-Town

It was Grandma's birthday on Sunday, and Mary's birthday is Wednesday, so Calvin and I headed down to T-Town to celebrate! We had a delicious cookout of steak and corn on the cob, and birthday cake. We also got to relax on the patio on one of the hottest days of the year. It was great!

Calvin got to borrow a swing from Great-Aunt Stephanie. He had a great time hanging out in the patio in it!

Grandpa and Calvin were deep in conversation... and Grandpa was very funny! Calvin kept smiling and letting out these light laugh-sounds...

Today Calvin is 2 months old! So we had to do a 2-month photo shoot after his bath. He didn't mind so much! I got a great video of Calvin talking to me - cooing and gurgling. It is absolutely amazing how much he has changed in the last two weeks. He smiles at me all the time now, and baby-talks to me too!
I put him on the scale last night, and he is up to 14.6 pounds! He is growing so fast.
Other changes in the last two months... he is getting to be easier to put down to sleep. Less crying when he needs to go down (which is wonderful). Sometimes he doesn't have to cry at all, he just settles down when I'm holding him and closes his eyes. He did this in church yesterday, which was amazing. Usually he gets all worked up in church, but he must have known Fr. Joe was watching him yesterday!

Today was also Calvin's first day at the babysitter. I'm sure he had fun at Miss Alicia's house... she has TWO swings after all! Alicia sends home cards every day to let me know how he did... today's was marked "fussy". I'm curious to see what the rest of the week has in store for us - other baby's "fussy" times might be Calvin's "normal" mood!
