Potty Training Day 1

It is time. Time for potty training.  So today, we headed out for a little shopping. Bribes. My son was not necessarily excited to give up his diapers.

We got a tricycle:

We bought big boy underwear:

And we bought Hungry Hungry Hippo!

We turned in our diapers for a tricycle!  We filled our little boy up on water in his new straw cups, apple juice, and M&M's and dum-dums for rewards. 

We finally talked him into sitting on the potty a couple times, no results.  He ran around all afternoon with his new underwear on, no pants.  He caught himself after a couple accidents.  Then right before bath, he sat down on his potty, and success!  I think it was the water running for the bath. An hour later, I had him sit down on the potty again, ran the water, and success again! 

Our score for day 1:  2 misses, 2 hits.  Not bad for day 1!
